happy that the website is back online again.
Unfortunately, the email lists run on the same server (directfb.org) so
these were out as well.
we realise that these downtimes cause considerable annoyance, or worse,
among the followers of DirectFB. Unfortunately, the previous downtimes
were hard to avoid - the explanation is somewhat private so I will leave
that.
In any case, the main downtime issue is now solved, so we expect proper
service from now on.
If we experience downtime again, you can email us directly (this does
not run on directfb.org) in case you urgently need updates.
If you wish to have quick access your documentation, a safe option is to
take a local dump of the website via "git clone
git://git.directfb.org/git/directfb/web/directfb.org.git" which you can
update using "git pull".

I am fairly new, too, and I found it sort of disturbing, esp. since this
was the second long downtime in a row. Such long downtimes always make
me wonder whether the project was abandoned, which is sort of a bad
feeling if you're builidng a codebase on top of DFB. Also, I mainly use
the online documentation plus forum searches etc. while coding, which
means work can actually get delayed.
So, is there a mirror for such situations? Otherwise, I would be happy
to offer to maintain a mirror, at least of the web content, download
directories, etc. It could be either on university server space or on
private server space with unlimited traffic.
So, if there is a general feeling that there should be a mirror,
everybody please say so, esp. the maintainers of directfb.org.
