-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey there,
While the backup to UFS seemed to work well when it worked, today I encountered 2 kernel panics while backing up. Both messaged "bad dir". Last one: - ----- panic(cpu 0 caller 0x002E4D81): bad dir Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x2501b9c8 : 0x128d1f (0x3c9540 0x2501b9ec 0x131df4 0x0) 0x2501ba08 : 0x2e4d81 (0x3e35f4 0x40ff4a8 0x1a01bc8 0x438) 0x2501ba38 : 0x2e533e (0x6979a3c 0x438 0x3e360c 0x0) [...] - ----- I will investigate to find the root cause, but I'll have to be careful not to corrupt my filevault with frequent crashes. I made 3 Backups - 2006-10-27, 2006-10-28, 2006-10-29 - none on 10/30, then when I went for the backup today, it panic()ed twice. For now, pls just take care when going for UFS backups, it doesn't seem to work as well as my initial experience taught me.
