That's the right thing to do with .gvfs, AFAIK

You don't need to init - the data will be alright and rsync will correct
any discrepancies anyway, but you probably need to fudge the (summary?)
file so that dirvish thinks it has a clean image. I'll check and send
another mail unless somebody else jumps in first.
