Now my take on the slogans. At first: I think we need to be clear
whom to address with the slogan. In my opinion we need to address
developers first, make them use GNUstep.

At this point, it would probably be a good idea to separate all
the ideas and discuss them individually
O.k. let's begin. I skimmed through all the messages to find the
proposed slogans and put them together here in alphabetical order
to discuss them and vote for them. If you have another great idea
or if I missed something feel free to add it to the list:
GNUStep - integrate your thoughts
this doesn't explain what GNUstep is, it is to wishy washy to me
GNUstep - Cocoa opened
GNUstep - Cocoa revisited
both good, easy to remember, but possible trouble with apple
GNUstep - Differently Thunk.
but what is GNUstep then?
GNUstep - Mac free
this results probably in problems with Apple
GNUstep - Not your father's Cocoa!
GNUstep - The greatest API you've never heard of!
nice, I like the humor in it. But will a great API alone make
developers consider GNUstep?
GNUstep - We ain't WindowMaker, Jack!
maybe to rude.
GNUstep - boost your (open source GUI) developement productvity
I think that one is too long
GNUstep - code differently
differently is not necessarily better. (Yes I came up with it but you
convinced me)
GNUstep - code intelligently
better than my original proposal, second choice to me
GNUstep - code less, deploy everywhere
[X] my favorite, short and to the point. It lines out what we are (a
framework/environment for development), it sums up the main
advantages (code less, cross platform capability)
GNUstep - code smartly
same as code intelligently
GNUstep - everybodies Mac
do we deliver that already?
GNUstep - free Cocoa
GNUstep - free as in Cocoa
both can *possibly* bring us in trouble with apple
GNUstep - make your users smile today
nice and positive, but you still get no idea what GNUstep is about
(WindowMaker - make your users smile today would also work for
WindowMaker)
GNUstep - write once deploy everywhere
that one is also not bad but it misses to point out that GNUstep
saves you a lot of time and code (which you don't need to write)
Put your best to the test. GNUStep does the rest.
I don't like rhymes. But that's just a personal taste.
regards,
Lars
I think it's important not just to add the slogan to the graphics of
the website but also to the html title so it is visible at Google and
the like.
regards,
Lars
