DotMOO reg problems

Is the .moo registration really working?

I do a whois

whois -h moois.tucows.com something.moo

and my request says that something.moo is available, yet I try to 
register it and then AFTER the webpage tells me it is available and 
AFTER I fill out the forms, it THEN tells me it is taken.

I'm confused :-)
