Is everyone completely disgusted with this "arrangement"?

I hope the ICANN guys that failed to buy options with their bribe money are
*kicking themselves*.

This deal caused a *$4 to 4.5 Billion* increase in Verisign's market cap.
(calculated as the difference in price as compared to other
certificate/registrar firms over the same time period times the outstanding
public shares)

In anticipation of approval of the extension of their power, Verisign has
enough (4 Billion) to pay off ICANN, the US department of Commerce, and any
petty lawer or registrar that will stand in their way - and still have
plenty left over to maintain a large text file and send UCE to their
customer base with discount web hosting offers.

Is there anything we can do to stop this? I would seriously consider
holding up signs in Washington. Or spamming the Whitehouse with copies of
Verisign ads.  Or similar.
