This is not *basically* tinydns. This *is* tinydns. DJB wrote tinydns. 
djbdns is the name if the suite which includes tinydns for authoritative 
lookups and dnscache for recursive lookups. I would recommend it to anybody 
who has the need for DNS for the following reasons: 

* smaller memory footprint
* more secure
* faster lookups
* easier to parse zone files
