It's my understanding that DRoA/C do a good deal of their solicitation by snail mail, so while blocking their solicitations by email is a great idea, I'm not sure it will make a dent in the damage they'll do.
What we're doing is including specific warning text in our confirmation away text configured with OSRS, and also specific text in the renewal reminders we send to clients. This way we can get the info to all that we should reach without having to do a mass mailing, something we try to avoid. There's enough unsolicited mail our there. The renewal mails hit a couple of months in advance of the expiry dates, so if DRoA/C's and Verisign and anyone else who stoops to this level to solicit business is timing their mailings for expiry dates, hopefully our customers will already have sufficient warnings. We're also encouraging people to send in complaints to the USPS and FTC. From what I've read to date, these notices break the law. Links for this are: USPS (I think their in the running for the longest URL award) http://www.usps.com/search97cgi/s97_cgi?action=View&VdkVgwKey=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eusps%2Ecom%2Fpostalinspectors%2Ffraud%2FMailFraudComplaint%2Ehtm&DocOffset=10&DocsFound=10&QueryZip=false+billing&Collection=external&SearchUrl=http%3A%2F%2F56%2E0%2E78%2E101%2Fsearch97%2Fs97%5Fa%2Evts%3FQueryZip%3Dfalse%2Bbilling%26ResultTemplate%3Dmain%252Ehts%26QueryText%3Dfalse%2Bbilling%26Collection%3Dexternal%26ResultStart%3D1%26ResultCount%3D25&&HLNavigate=off& FTC https://rn.ftc.gov/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01">Fe Both of these are links for filing a complaint online. More complaints should equate to more pressure, sooner. We're also going to keep http://domainscams.com relatively R4L brand free, so if you want to point people there that's fine. Works for me.
