Hello *,

Happy to see you here :)
I'm trying to have a full picture about what is happening.
Is "The Document Foundation" a *real* Foundation, incorporated and
registered in a specific country and governed by a specific law or is it
still a international "group of people/different legal entities" without
any legal unity?
If the former is true, is there a Chart of the Foundation that explains
duties/rights/organization/statutory purposes and so on?
If it isn't true, is the present group preparing such Chart and will it
file documents for registration in any country?
Currently it's a group and the Foundation is not up yet, we will set it
up with the community members who wish to contribute to it. We are
planing to write a charter, organization, governance, duties, etc...
not only the small group who has launched the project, but all of the
people who are willing to be part of the Foundation.
I've seen much confusion about money contributions and the relationship
between this "Foundation" and the German OpenOffice.org Deutschland e.V
entity that, AFAIK, is a different legal entity.
For the moment, the German association is helping us to structure the
whole thing and have a legal backup, but we still have a lot of work to
move to an official foundation.
Sincerely, I really miss a big chunk of info about what *exactly*
is/will be "The Document Foundation".
Any clarification will be highly appreciated.
I hope it's more clear now :)
Kind regards
Sophie
