You are always free to release your own source code under any license you wish. If you re-use code from any source you will naturally need to comply with the terms of the license, but there's no inherent need to do this for most extensions. > > Is there any connection between libreoffice's license and the extensions > license? Does it also apply to OpenOfffice.org? There might be in certain circumstances where there are issues; you should consult an expert privately as mailing lists are not the place to get such advice. But in the general case, there are unlikely to be licensing issues affecting extensions caused by the licensing of LibreOffice or OpenOffice.org or, when they release their first version, Apache Open Office.
