There are also plenty of schools using wordpress as a learning management system, perhaps the best example is http://commons.gc.cuny.edu/. I've been impressed to see schools use more of a distributed community approach to learning systems, such as and http://www.eoi.es/portal/en/ - they encourage students to publish all over the web, and use hashtags to aggregate the content together in the school's portal. More info on that, in Spanish: http://www.eoi.es/portal/guest/actualidad/eoi-en-red
