I don't know if any of you have heard of Peer2Peer University (p2pu - http://p2pu.org), but they're building their own course management software, codenamed Lernanta: http://p2pu.lighthouseapp.com/projects/71002-lernanta/overview - beta testing at http://new.p2pu.org
p2pu is a project to provide peer-organized courses in a wide variety of areas. I just started taking my friend Stian Haklev's course on Computer Supported Collaborative Learning: http://bit.ly/cscl-intro His course is beta testing the new software, and they hope to switch the whole platform onto the new one by July. It's early in development, but it looks like it has a lot of potential. It's much more open and social than your standard institutional options. Stian's comment on the new system: http://new.p2pu.org/en/groups/introduction-to-the-field-of-computer-supported-co/content/meta-discussion-about-how-this-group-is-organized/#398-- > There are several places to discuss the development of the website.
