Out of the discussion I had with Mako earlier, the concern was not about who had control over it (It seemed like Mako could authorize the switch) but whether it would cause any problems with the Wikimedia foundation which currently points to freedomdefined.org for their definition of free media/data/knowledge/etc. To avoid problems, Mako will give them a heads up and make sure the transition will happen smoothly. This will happen after he has settled in to his now home, though. I'll keep everyone updated!
