Sorry for late answer. Use callback function to unbind the event form
element. For example:

$(".editable").editable("http://www.example.com/save.php", {
indicator : '<img src="img/indicator.gif">',
type : "textarea",
submit : "OK",
}, function(value, settings) {
$(this).unbind(settings.event);
});
});
