I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that when R is installed on
a Windows machine, the default start icon parameters are:
"C:\Program Files\R\R-3.5.0\bin\i386\Rgui.exe" --cd-to-userdocs
Maybe this can be changed to "--cd-to-userdesktop" or something. I
couldn't find anything in the R manuals to help with this.
