They are clearly idiots. 1. You cannot “buy” a Linux license. You *can* buy a license for some specific Linux distros (RedHat), but Linux itself is free. GPL. 2. illumos distros should generally just provide a copy of the CDDL. For OI, there are a few other license bits (OSBL, etc.) I believe there is a single file that most distros build that contain the sum of all the copyright data on the system — I’m not sure what XStreamOS does here, as I don’t know its build process. 3. Oracle will almost certainly not respond at all. They’ve never done anything that might possibly construed as acknowledging the mere existence of any of the illumos or OpenSolaris derivatives. (That said, if you *do* hear *anything* back from them, I’d really like to know!) - Garrett > > Thanx as always, > Gabriele. > illumos-discuss | Archives > <https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now> > <https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/22003744-9012f59c> | > Modify <https://www.listbox.com/member/?&> Your Subscription > <http://www.listbox.com/> ------------------------------------------- illumos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/21175430-2e6923be Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21175430&id_secret=21175430-6a77cda4 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
