It would not surprise me if they either a) invented their own feature and
bumped the ZFS version to 29, or b) decided to just bump the *version* to
preclude interop with other platforms. (This is called “lock-in”.)
However, this code should all be CDDL, so it should be possible to insist that
they give back the sources under the terms of the CDDL.
