This sounds strange and given the fact that it works for SchilliX-ON, the
reason must be changes in the illumos include files.
Let me first try to find out more about the suncpp version you have:

Why do you have a timestamp that is recent instead of a timestamp that is from
before August 18 2010?
I think IPS doesn't have information about file timestamp so it can't
preserve it on package install.
