Thanks for the suggestion, Jim. Besides the SmartOS latest, I tried the
following images and oi-hipster-minimal-201610 : (still exactly the same
problem!)
- smartos-20161013
- smartos-20160707
- smartos-20160330
- smartos-20151224

Isn't the problem specific to Ryzen CPU? If not, wouldn't it have been
identified earlier?
