I read the manual to install the extensions. They are there and have a hook.

Can it be that my Lenovo T60 is too small? But openindiana on a real HDD with the same Lenovo T60 works.

Hello,

this is the problem. Booting from openindia is so slow that the host is slow too. This means that only the clock and the mouse is working. I can do nothing then power off the pc.

It is not possible to install the VirtualBox extensions because booting never comes to end.

Hi,
read how to install extension pack here: https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02.html#install-ext-pack

IMHO, you do not need to run any guest to do it.

Have you installed the Virtual Box extensions, in case they are available?

    Hello,

I installed openindiana in VirtualBox. Host system is Linux Mint.
It works, but openindiana runs extrem slow. I always have Wndows
Vista in VirtualBox, that runs normal.

My question is: Why is openindiana so extrem slow?
