I use the configuration that VirtualBox shows me. If I reduce the ram to
1024 it is a little bit faster.
Next test: Opensuse Leap 15.4. Absolut no problems.

I think you are right. Lenovo T60 has 4 GB ram but only 3 GB can be used for
ram.

This sounds very much like you are running out of memory. Please note that
VirtualBox uses all memory assigned to the guest immediatly.

Actually, I had wrongly mentioned the Extension Pack. What you need are the
guest additions:

Please do see if you can install these and whether performance improves.
As for the comparison between the two different computer models, please compare
the CPU, disk, RAM, and virtual memory.
