We had a couple fixes in the last couple months that made Hardware
acceleration possible on Some Laptops again.
We also welcome any contribution for Hardware we do not own. Meaning, If
you want illumos to work on your System. Make it work! This System is
not sold to end users it is Available for free to participate and enjoy
developing together. Nobody CAN force anybody to adopt anything. We have
the Fork Yeah Philosophy for a reason!

make your Fork without. With the Technical basis that Crossbow, ZFS and
SMF give us it will be technically relevant in the future too, even if
you want to do things by yourself in the way you like.
