Eventually, I let go of graphics and thought about just using it without graphics to find out neither of wireless lan and NIC are supported. The NIC/lan one is so common among notebooks yet illumos doesn't have it!

Often depressed seeing the state of illumos.

even consider a donation. I'm using Intel Integrated graphics. Old
enough hardware so even NetBSD does have support for hardware
accelerated graphics. But you borked libdrm and forcing me to use
    VESA.

Hello!

The illumos world is a more server-side reality, usually they don't need graphic cards.

With graphics and Openindiana we have to use NVIDIA GPUs. There are only a few people who would be able to make recent INTEL GPU to work, but other topics have higher priority, as always when there is much more to do than working hands  available...

With Laptops, the rule is the older the better, my Dell Latitude 6510 with NVidia build in works fine with LAN.

As my home server i use a €100 older server with XEON E3-1231 v3 @ 3.40GHz and 32GB RAM, when i need graphics there are cheap Nvidia NVS 295 cards or GT1030 or whatever...

We have to use (and love:) whats already there. (.. unless you are able to sponsor a developer to work on your needs - or do it yourself)

Thats my point of view.

Regards,

Stephan
