[feature request: spawning tangent threads; change subject line.] hmm? My theory is that if you are posting a link to the list that you should have an explanation of what it is and why you are posting it anyway.
In a related aside: We have HTML turned off on the email version of the list, so any sort of embedding wouldn't come through to the email subscribers. we do this for security reasons. So TinyURLs seem to be the best option with good descriptions. Also, in 4 years of this list nothing I can think of was ever posted that was egregious in any way, so while I appreciate the concern I think something about community context is also relevant here. Added note: first time posters are moderated--meaning their posts go to the listmom, AKA Josh, before going to the list. But in my 4 year tenor again, nothing bad was ever attempted.
