As to the age old debate, you took "the letter not the spirit" of my
comments. I think the ability to critique things well, whether as a
simple review or an exhaustive, complex, challenging process - does
not make one equally good at designing or suggesting design
solutions. That's all. It's not a complex point.

Yes, but it does not not make one equally good at designing, and that
should not be the immediate assumption.
