Philips has a lot of remotes for several instances: http://www.remotecontrol.philips.com/index.cfm?id=1223
Mouse is replacable by touchpad, pointer, thumbstick but keyboard is to stay. Can't see it disappear for chatting or textprocessing. Perhaps they come up with a sort of pda like remote with shorthand typing but I don't think it will beat the keyboard on speed or easy of use/ease of learning. The bigger question is: what do you want to do with your tv? Surfing the internet is more of a personal thing to me and at the moment, my laptop is on my lap and the tv is on. A Wii-mote kind of device is easier to introduce because lots of people are used to the kind of interface. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
