Hi Shannon, While I don't remember coming across a code snippet or plugin that does exactly what you're looking for, you might find the DataTables plugin (http://plugins.jquery.com/project/DataTables) helpful for the "filter-as-you-type" functionality.
For what it's worth, the whole thing should be pretty trivial to build from scratch if you're at all familiar with JQuery.
