there's no such thing as apple discounting.  At best, you might get 1% or 2%
discount from pcconnection, cdw etc.  But it's not worth it.

If you buy directly from apple, then your applecare will be automatically
pre-registered for you before it arrives.  I think.  Just verify that before
you take my word for it.

If you buy from another vendor, pcconnection etc, then after systems arrive,
you're going to have to write down serial numbers, and open the applecare
packages and write down applecare agreement numbers and type them one-by-one
into the website.  It's a huge hassle.
