As much trouble as this will probably get me into, I can relate to her
preference for Word Perfect. It's an outstanding and useful editor, the
very opposite of most of the others. I believe that you are correct in
wanting a local, windows-aware, competent person to help out.

Pity it's the weekend. I'm going to hit up a couple of people I know in
that far off place called Pennsylvania, and see if there's a local shop
that they'd recommend.

Stick to your guns. Your mother is comfortable with the tools she has,
and there's no reason that she should be having to learn Linux, and
Open Office, and who knows what else, when she already has solid
understanding of the system she's currently using. If I were closer,
I'd have already volunteered (wrong coast).
