Great question! You'll probably end up writing the only honest job
description in existence.

I think you really have answered your own question, but I'll clarify my
personal preference:

I'd like to see a job description ("want ad") that *really* describes what the
position is all about. List the actual technologies that need to be managed.
List the goals of the company/department/operation. Is (for example)
configuration management something that $company wants, but nobody's done it
there yet? What are the (average) hours? Does the position include
off-hours on-call duty? Is that just expected, or are there incentives (extra
pay)? Is training (via coursework, classes, conferences, etc) included?
And finally, what is it about $company that will attract ME? Why is it cool
to work there?

There's obviously the boilerplate job descriptions and such that will actually
get posted on your company's HR web site. But DO please of course send the
"ad" to the sa-jobs list, and include as much detail and honesty as you can.

__My executive summary:__
The absolute worst thing that can happen is a job is described one way, but
when the winning candidate arrives for his or her first day, they discover it's
a totally different thing. "Yeah, I know we advertised we're primarily a
linux server shop, but there's also this slew of aging active directory servers
we need you to manage too. And the 20 Windows XP desktops in engineering?
We need you to deal with those too. Sorry, forgot to mention that"
