Every now and then, I've ended up with items that were autographed by
an author (in the case of a PERL shirt, by *three* authors), and I
often find homes for them rather than just tossing them out. I've been
cleaning out my library, and I was surprised that I'd kept the red Unix
System Administration Handbook (I gave the purple one away ages ago).
When I opened it, I remembered why. It was signed by Evi, in purple ink
(of course). If there's someone on the list that would like to have it,
and you are somewhere that it won't cost me a fortune to send it (which
rules out Europe and points further, considering I'm in Washington
state), I'll be happy to send it to you (along with the companion CD,
if you want it). Please remember that this was published in 1995 (it's
the second edition), and although I'm sure there's much in it that's
still useful, and to the point, the reason to have it is the signature,
and appreciation of a bit of history.
Besides, it has an excellent section on Modems.
I'll give this a few days to percolate out. If I hear from no one by
Wednesday, it'll just go to recycle (it's softcover).
