I curse the day some idiot said, "Hey, if we make it be a phone (and a camera and a music player and a remote control for your tv and a stand mixer for your cookies and a car wax and a shoe polish, and and and), too, we can charge at least 3-5 times as much and people will pay for it!" Having a little handheld thingy that kept track of lists, contact info, and various other small things for a reasonably low price was awesome.
