I still prefer paper cards. No need to have an app, no worry about
scanning random QR codes. I do use CardScan2 to scan and OCR many (not
all) of the cards that I get. If I could get that integrated into
Google Contacts, I probably would.

There used to be very good PIMs, those seem to have gone away or
gotten much more expensive?

I have been known to (rarely) write on the back of a card, but NEVER
in Japan or with a Japanese person.

Paper cards are still an important part of the business ritual,
especially in Japan, some EU countries, and outside tech circles.

My personal (non-business) card is as minimal as it could possibly be.
A MOO Card with my personal email address.

Since it is my name@gmail (for now), that's good enough for them to
find me on any social network site, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. And since
my twitter handle is also @myname, that helps too.

I grabbed my wife's family name.com at least 10 years ago, so her
"unique handle" is [email protected], which is also great on a MOO card.

Then there's this guy:

As much as we might want to use some high-tech alternative, I think
that the "ritual exchange of business cardboard" will be with us for a
while.
