1. You probably are getting the short end.  If you are involved in the choir, 
or it’s your X (church, temple, synagogue, mosque, org), then that’s OK. Unless 
you’re confident of how long it’ll take, and the requirements, it doesn’t sound 
like you’ll come out happy & ahead.

3. If I had to do this, i’d probably just use a quick sinatra app w/ data 
mapper.    Mostly because i’ve been using ruby for extending puppet, 
mcollective, logstash, and sensu..

Calendar is a bit harder, but if it’s just a list of events vs a full calendar, 
it’s a fairly simple data model.  SQLite backend, and you’re done.


(Ugh, i guess I could write that in a few hours or so.  Not pretty, but… I 
could do it.  That’s a change :)
