...ignoring the not-anywhere-near-dying other examples that adopted and
adapted it from when newspapers were thriving --- and as such are
demonstrating part of the reason failed-to-adapt newspapers are dying....

Information is a commodity. The model works, even if the folks who first
established it failed to keep up.
