I have that exact switch in 24-port and love it.  Like the procurve gear
we use at work, it just chugs along, never needing rebooting, updating
or anything.  The 12 and 24-port models are fanless, which is nice for a
home install.  And it comes with HP's lifetime warranty.

I've found gigabit to be a nice win for desktop<->media server if you
are pushing around big photos.
