Derek et al,

Your questions were great, and the membership definitely needs to know the
answers to them. We've got a draft email that's probably going to be out
today with hopefully enough information to allow everyone to make informed
opinions. The difficulty is that since tomorrow is our Face to Face, the
West Coast contingent are on planes right now, and I'm still on this train.

We're not being secretive about this - it's just that we really wanted to
get our ducks in a row before presenting things to the membership, as
Brandon suggested - otherwise an email thread like this would have
happened. It did anyway, but I still like the idea of operating in the open
rather than going into an executive session to talk about potential plans.

In an ideal world, Board Meetings would be able to be attended by any
member who wanted to, but right now, we haven't worked out the "right" way
to do that while maintaining the ability to actually get things done.

In the meantime, try to be patient and we'll get a statement out as soon as
we can.

Thanks everyone,

--Matt
