There are tons of electrical and mechanical factors here. Honestly you may be fine, but you're taking your old broken laptop's life into your own hands, so continue at your own peril. Heat dissipation, ducting (airflow), mechanical flexing, thermal and electrical conductivity of the material, proper grounding, static electric generation, are probably the most obvious things to think about. Others have mentioned the dishwasher (I never heard of that before). I have previously used the kitchen sink sprayer or shower head in the bathroom to clean gunked keyboards. (Coffee gunked). Best let it dry somewhere with a naturally constant warm air flow, like behind the server chassis in your network closet where there's a constant fan blowing some constantly dry 100 degree air. Leave it overnight. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
