For the benefit of those who don't click: SysAdvent is a set of blog posts which are put up one-a-day during December, about topics and tricks of recent interest to sysadmins. I have nothing to do with the project, but have been reading them for a couple of years, because every year there are a handful of excellent writeups of some neat tool or idea i'd never heard of (or had heard of, but didn't know what it was).
