As someone with an UNcommon name, I still get stuff intended for other
people, and sometimes for the most bizarre reasons.

My favorite was the person who found that "mizmoose" was registered for
Gmail, so she created "mizmoose1" - and then opened an online shop. I
didn't figure out what was going on until I started getting PayPal
transfers! It took me a few tries to get the other person to understand
not just why I was getting her money (I refunded them all, of course) but
why she should change her id.

But the topper is my Yahoo id, which I've owned longer than the Gmail one.
Not only do I get personal and sensitive information for other people, but
years ago one family (!) dogpiled me and accused me of "hijacking and
stealing" their mother's email address, to the point of not just
threatening me but also filing a theft complaint to Yahoo.

End-users aren't just silly. Sometimes they're just stupid.
