The problem with this isn't that C is obsolete - it's that there are a
lot of other things not covered there which are useful and come up
frequently.

 e.g., i have touched the python packaging system, DNS, several ruby
issues, refactored part of a chef cookbook, and written some
javascript... and that's just today.
