Any thoughts on best practices/checklist items to be a good prgmr customer?

I've two alternate email addresses (not hosted on my domU) in
billing-external, so I should get important email even if my domU is down.
#prgmr IRC screen session or two, one on a non-prgmr network.
Subscribe to the announce and maintenance mail lists.
What do y'all do?
What brought this on? I don't mean to whine, really, but somehow I
didn't know mantle was moving last night, so my monitoring services
blew my phone up just about the time I was entering REM sleep. Now
I'm trying to figure out (even with all that above) how I missed the
move announcement.
BTW, I did check for any email from prgmr.com on both my primary
(domU) and secondary (gmail) accounts: the only emails this month
were the IP messages from "chris t" on 5/14.
