You can program Python on Android in one of many ways,
I acknowledged that.
My problem with the nature of Android as a platform is the way it is
usually delivered to people -- with a sauce of extra proprietary
applications (even previously core open source Android apps are being
replaced by proprietary ones by Google in new versions), and locked down
at a boot-loader level.
And smart phones are the worst because they are also first class
surveillance devices with all the geolocating that their WiFI and GPS
support that is available to applications.
(at least with my dumb-phone that I carry for bussiness reasons and not
to protests, only the celluar company is tracking my location through
towers... not that I'm okay with that....)
And then there is the ability for NSA.apk to open the microphone and
camera that you're probably not covering with tape.
And, (aside from javascript/CSS/html), there's no GUI lib for doing
android and desktop at the same time, certainly not for python, so any
python application with a GUI is either going to be Android only or
desktop only.
Given the above issues, I'll steer people towards a desktop over a
smartphone anytime I have a choice in the matter... and 48 hours means
I'm not going to be doing two front ends.
