Unless you do keep track of MAC addresses for this data collection,
there are ways to change the hostname given to a DHCP Server.  One
could also set a static IP bypassing DHCP entirely. :D

Under Linux for example, the following config file can specify exactly
what hostname is sent to the DHCP server: /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf
Variable to update is: send host-name =

Thus creating a script to run at system start can basically randomize
this hostname.  This variable also doesn't effect any other hostname
relying component on a Linux system.
