Or change the newbie forum to a FAQ forum. What I mean here is that the
forum, for its first post, has a FAQ sticky post listing issues, fixes
& workarounds. If a newbie has a problem not covered by it then they
post it to the forum. The forum software flags a new message available
in that forum, giving the opportunity for non-newbies to go in and read
it and suggest a fix/workaround. If this fix/workaround works then it's
edited to the FAQ post and the associated posts deleted. Only downside
with this is that depending upon how many 'problems' arose and in
'progress', it could mean that that forum would need a dedicated
moderator just to keep on top of it all. Well, it was just an idea.
