Why isn't this included in the standard distribution?
They never asked for permission ;-)
Every module that is added to the main code has to be maintained and
tested by the developpment team. There's not enough manpower to do so with
all those interesting plugins (others wanted to see kdf's advanced alarm
plugin in the main code, or his random play or...). That's why it's left
to the plugin's author to keep them up to date.
