It's not uncommon for valve amps to be susceptible to RFI problems that
are often exacerbated by grounding (earthing) arrangements. It is likely
that both your pre-amp and power amp have a mains earth connection and
that the screen on the lead between pre and power completes a triangular
pathway between them. Sometimes this can cause a "ground loop" problem,
sometimes it creates a borderline instability which can give rise to RFI
problems. Does the power amp have balanced inputs?
You might need to lift the earth on the interconnect at the pre-amp end
if moving the (new) router/modem doesn't work.

If you have access to a multimeter, check that there is no voltage
differential between the caseworks of the pre and power. Also check that
the resistance is zero.

If your setup is susceptible to RFI you might want to try replacing the
switched PSU of the SB with a linear one.

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
