Another way is to put a 10 ohm resistor between the interconnect screen and earth. This effectively grounds the cable shields while breaking the earth loop. I would also discuss the problem with the EL34 amp constructor. Other things I would try - 1. Move the router/modem as far away from the amp as possible. 2. Move the SB3 as far away from the preamp as the interconnects will allow. 3. Put one of those clunky ferrite clampon rf blockers on the cables to the SB3, first try the power cable, then the interconnects. 4.
