Yes it depends a lot on the touch screen which is often quite bad on older devices (as mine). I am sort-of using my fingernail, to provide a well defined touch spot. If others report the same issue, I'll go back to the previous design.
I just thought of a nifty group-registration: I'll hand out 'buddy'-keys. Devices with buddy-keys will ask from time to time to talk to the master device via LAN and have their buddy-status confirmed.
