Thanks for the pointer. I did manage to find that myself, after I posted .... it helps if I spell Xilinx correctly!
Unfortunately, none of that improved matters. However, further searches led me to this posting about a very similar problem: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71914 With the help of the schematic, and the suggestions there, I am convinced that it is the coupling capacitor on the output from the dac (C7 on SB2, C20 on SB3) which has failed. The rms voltage on the output from the cap is an order of 10 lower than the voltage from the dac. So, looking at replacing the coupling caps on both channels, I came across the modifying SB3 thread, here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19822 >From this, it seems that I would do well to eliminate the output driver op-amp and replace the coupling caps with better quality devices. If I can obtain the better spec'ed dac here in Philipines, I may well change that too. If all goes well, I can then apply the same mods to my other SB3. -- peterbell ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterbell's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7314 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84395 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
